From the dive bar to the Michelin star.

Living well looks different for everyone: the splurge you saved up for, or the local bar that already knows your order. City guides, trip itineraries and honest reviews of both, with every place judged on what it promises, not on what it costs.

Four Ways Out of Barcelona

The promise

Honest reviews. Always.

Every review here is what we actually thought: the good, the bad and the overpriced. Nobody buys a good word on this site.

  1. Judged on what it promises

A dive bar isn’t marked down for not being a tasting menu, and a Michelin star doesn’t buy a pass. We hold every place to the standard it sets for itself.

  2. Fair, not harsh

Anyone can have an off night. A one-off slip that’s put right gets a fair hearing; a pattern doesn’t. Either way, the review says what happened, kindly but clearly.

  3. Unannounced, always

Even when a business invites us, we turn up like any other customer: no warning, no special table. A collaboration can cover the visit, never the verdict, and the review says when we were invited.

Know a place we should try?

Suggest a restaurant, a dive bar, a hotel, a show, a shop or a brand for us to review, or tell us about a collaboration. We read every message.

For businesses and brands

We’d love to hear from you. Whatever we agree, the review stays honest: we visit unannounced, like any customer, and the details of any collaboration are worked out with us personally. A good review here can’t be bought, which is exactly what makes it worth having.

We’ll only use your details to reply to you.
